The California Attorney Examination

Watch a short video on this topic:

What's so great about taking the Attorney Examination? You don't have to sit for the Multistate Bar Examination!

But wait! Suppose you're good at multiple choice questions. What then? Just because you're licensed in another jurisdiction doesn't mean that you are forbidden to take the MBE.

Sometimes our best advice for attorneys is to tell them to sit for the General Bar Examination with all the recent law school graduates.  If you've got a natural advantage, why give it up?  What are you going to do on the day between two grueling days of essays and performance tests, bill 10 hours?

How was your physical and emotional health? The physical and emotional aspects of preparation are more subtle than the substantive ones, but nobody disputes the most basic idea: how you feel - both physically  and emotionally - has a big impact on your performance. You need to take these factors into account when you begin to consider how to approach taking the exam.

Have a look at our document and video, How to Pass the California Bar Exam for more specific advice about how to maximize your chances for success.
